Conventions of horror trailers

• We are not shown the story in narrative order
• An elipses between the story's
• Voiceover (to tell the story)
• Unusual angles are used to show events/character. For instance, in the 'Cabin in the Woods' trailer, ther is a close-up shot of one of the characters, to display his terrified facial expression.

• Music (to create atmosphere)
• One-line conversations between the characters
• The trailer builds to a climax, where it ends
• Title appears at end, like in the trailer of this horror film called 'Sinister'
